Lendleaf
Books are meant to be read — not to gather dust.
Lendleaf started with a simple observation: most of us have shelves full of books we love and would happily share — we just never had an easy way to do it. A book sitting unread is a missed connection.
So I built Lendleaf — a real, physical book lending library for friends and colleagues. Not a marketplace. Not a social network. Just a quiet, trusted place where books move between people who care about them.
If you're here, someone thought you'd be a good fit for this community. I hope they were right.
— James Guilfoyle, founder
Books are for reading
A book on a shelf helps no one. Lendleaf exists to keep books moving and stories circulating.
Trust is everything
Lendleaf is invite-only. Every member vouches, implicitly, for the community they're part of.
Privacy first
Your email and personal details are never shown to other members. Only your username and what you choose to share.
No money, no noise
No buying, selling, points, or streaks. Just books and the people who love them.
Add your books
Register books from your shelf. Scan the barcode or enter the title manually — cover art and descriptions fill in automatically.
Browse the catalog
See what your community has available. Search by title, author, genre, or username.
Place a hold
Request a book you'd like to borrow. The lender approves and you coordinate delivery or pickup directly.
Read it. Return it.
Borrow for the agreed loan period, then confirm the return so it's available for the next reader.
Lendleaf is invite-only and grows by word of mouth.
If someone here has enriched your reading life, tell them.
